What drinking too much iced coffee did to me

 

My love for drinking iced coffees is incredibly ridiculous. You wouldn’t believe just how bad it’s gotten, especially on the amount of money I spend on a refill cup.
I drink iced coffees from Dunkin Donuts everyday during the week. I absolutely don’t know why I never have one on the weekend. I did this for the longest time, I don’t remember when I started to drink iced coffees, but I do remember when it made me feel sick.

At first, I didn’t know it was the coffees I had been ordering from Dunkin Donuts and sometimes from Macdonalds were making me sick. I simply blamed the food I cooked and purchased. But no one else, in my family ever got sick from the meals I made. I couldn’t see what it was that was making me feel sick to my stomach.

I didn’t know if it was because I ate very little food with it. I never knew that coffee could sure make a person feel sick in their tummy, until one day a lady told me that drinking too much coffee can make you sick. But another person told me that “it’s not that you’re drinking too much coffee it’s just that you are not eating enough food with your coffee”.

After hearing that, I wanted to try the theory for eating plenty of food with my coffees, whether it’s hot or cold. This worked for a little while. I thought to myself “I need to stop or slow-down on coffee drinking”. Slowing down met that I can have at least 3 iced coffees a week as opposed to having one every day. (that’s 5 totals in one week) Sometimes when I am drinking my iced coffees, I get this burnt after taste to. I don’t like that. I didn’t know what to do with the coffee after that. I sometimes didn’t finish my coffee.

After a few weeks of taking control

A few weeks went by drinking less iced coffees. My sickness dramatically changed, I no longer feel sick. Instead occasionally, I make myself a mocha shake with ¼ cup of coffee, just enough to give me a little boost.

I found this recipe in the box when I purchased my Nutri Ninja Bullet Duo. I started using the machine for shakes and smoothies. I realized, shakes and smoothies are the best way to drink anything fruity and healthy even coffees. I have one at least every day now, I’m loving it. I get to create it the way I like it or even try new flavors. Ugh! Possibilities are endless.

I love the way she created iced coffees with different blend of natural flavors. I think my favorite is the breakfast blend. Here’s the recipe for that one. I tried it and it was delicious.

• Ice
• Any ½ cup milk
• 1 banana
• ½ cup Nutella
• 1 ½ Cold brewed coffee
